GUYS - we have the damn glyph (though it took four days) and so now we can stop talking here.
If you're a casual player of the game, http://insidetheexperience.com offers weekly recaps and a very friendly atmosphere. If you're the more active player, http://thelostexperienceclues.com is always the first to post new information and the team working together in the blog comments and in chat are the fastest out there.

Egg, huh? My complaint from the start was that either it was a glyph (and DocArzt wasjust painfully dragging it out) or it was completely fake (as an attention grabber).
I still think the truth was somewhere in between. TLEC's glyph hunt was amazing compared to this - active, friendly, creative, and done within 10 hours.

Lostpedian... the only thing that has not been friendly is you? And did you happen to notice how much everybody else actually enjoyed it? Think about this too, after flaming the site and me, I actually gave you a second chance. Normally, when somebody doesn't like a site, they just don't go there. You seem to think you have a duty to make your opinion known; even if 95% of the people disagree with you. But I was liberal about it. When you started to show signs of coming around, I lifted your ban as a show of good faith. But that means nothing to you. Y'know why? Because you are a totally downer man. You just want to bring everybody down. You are a sad sad person, Lostpedian. The only reason I'm not more actively trying to keep you off the site right now is because your like our freak-show attraction. And, I kinda like watching everybody beat your around.

Yes, please spare us this insecurity-driven 'mine is cooler' silliness. The game is the focus, not you. Move on already.
Meanwhile, for the rest of us, who are actually focused on the game... I think I get the concept behind the Mittlewerk section of the video. It's the classic 'Would you let 10 people die to save the world? 100? 1000?' (See also: Swordfish, among others) I've suspected for a while that the most significant parts of this video would come near the end of the search, and as we get closer to the end, that theory seems to be true:
Purpose of Mittlewerk's speech
Identity of Alvar Hanso in the Dharma video
Referencing the Lost island (c'mon, it has to be...) :)

Hey all,
Im sure we all got the e mail from Miss Blake. It says shes doing good, but still on the run and we should keep an eye on the apollo candy site.
Not only are their dates to get a free Apollo bar if you click on the US (those of us in LA should all meet up next Tuesday at the Santa Monica giveaway) and if you click on the UK, it reveals that thursdays code is "Alvar Hanso."

CREED, i think you mean 'Utilitarianism' ie going for the greater benefit mathematically/logically.
What a load of fun that was, the glyph being more intimate with the players than normal, great entertainment.
My view on Lostpedian, hmm, they balance out the fans, there has to be one negative, causes people to think more, look at reason rather than just premise; people have to give LP a reason why, and if LP makes a valid argument to show the original comment had no reason, they have done well, even if they seem negative.
From what i read of LP so far they didn't seem to be a bad person just a pest...

Let me be clear on something. I don't mind criticism. It doesn't bother me at all. We have not covered the game step by step as well as everyone. Then again, in some aspects we have been at the heart of it. When this site started, we were the first to break many of the codes, as well as even officially kick off tracking the game. Twelve-thousand people joined the forum through the gateway offered here. Do I have regrets? Heck no. Because I have no regrets, it doesn't bother me that somebody might not like what we do, or how we do it. Because we do it all for the love of lost, try to make it as fun as we can, and that is it. Now when someone like Lostpedian comes in here just a ball of negative energy striking at the core of every good natured move we make, that I find a little offensive. Why? Because that says that LOSTPEDIAN has contempt for good natured people who are trying to express their love for LOST and this game. Period. And people like that aren't guests in my house. So if you don't like the site, I hope you find one you like. If your just here because you hate Me, Vex, Matty, and the rest of us, do us a favor and screw off.

Just wanted to post this again...since things are moving soooo fast today!
Thanks again everybody at TLE....
That was much more fun than we have had in a while!
And even I was able to do it on my own without a lot of fancy software, etc.
Non-techies like me thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting us get in on the fun and actually figure it out for ourselves!
And for all the naysayers...WTF! I guess it's true you can't please all the people all the time. First it's don't hand it to us, than it's what are you trying to do? Be in-game? Then my blog did it better than your blog, jeesh!
TLE....you did AWESOME!
Anyone else, if your blog is sooooo hunky dorry great, than why didn't you leave this one to the rest of us and just stay out! Seems you wanted to play after all, so quit telling folks to leave here now that the 'drama' is done! Huff! Sorry had to get that off my chest, even if this isn't my 'home' blog.

Doc should realize why my name isnt all over everything, And im not claiming to have all the answers, just access to some of the answers. additionally, I'm concerned that Doc and I have EXTREMELY similar backgrounds, and I question the efficiency with which the hacker was handled, if indeed this was not a part of the game. AND if it were part of the game, then doc had to be in on it. I could be wrong, but probably not. jsut my thoughts

August 22, 2006 10:18 PM
Er... I don't have time to check (I'm at work you see) but has anyone noticed this?
When you log into Hansoexposed.com with nothing loaded in your video sequence edit (all your clips in your storage boxes) and zoom into the first part of the empty sequence edit, in the space for the second clip there's something random there - a small clip in very dark blackandwhite that lasts about 1 second and seems to be some sort of symbol.
You're all so clever you must have figured this out already, but I'm a bit um lost. Anyone help me out on that?

I suppose that its not that important. Maybe I'm alittle preoccupied with people who claim to have defaced a website since I also have sites of my own. Anonymous, my take is this: legally, ABC can't hack anyone, not even if they cause no damage it's against the law! And why would ABC want to place itself in a vulnerable legal position when they have the resources to execute the game without going through that trouble? It stands to reason then, that whoever had to give permission for the "hack" gave permission for it. So, Doc knew and he pretended not to know, thus making the hunt more exciting. Period. I for one, am not upset about any of it.

I want to add my voice to the chorus praising thie little glyph hunt! It was the most fun I have had in the game in quite some time. I agree with Ms. O that is was particularly cool that it wasn't about having super hi-tech knowledge or having to travel to a foreign country. Most of us could have soled that on our own, given enough time...yet it wasn't spoonfed. The perfect blend. It doesn't hurt that it put my fave site on the map!
As for the LP issue...As a mod of TTS, he has been a pain in my butt since day one and I have thought at times that Doc was a little too tolerant of his antics. Now he says that ITE and TLEC are better, friendlier places. That is just great. I don't have a lot of experience with the people at TLEC, but I am quite familiar with ITE. And in fact, I kept wishing that Leighsa from ITE would pop over with her lighter and demonstrate how she hunts trolls over at ITE.
*starts searching for my own lighter in case LP makes a return*

Its hard to track whats "in-game" anymore because not only have our own site become "in-game" but we have never been offered proof beyond the eventual information provided but until that proof arises, we never know what is "in-game" and what is someone looking for some level of self importance. For instance, there are at least 12 people claiming to be Racheal Blake on myspace. There are obvious codes and information hidden on www.whereisalvarhanso.com but whether they are created by a fan or as an actual in-game clue is something we can only speculate about at this point.
I say we all keep an eye out and post whatever information we find until we discover one way or the other.

Interesting - maybe its nothing, maybe its not even in-game... but someone mentioned whereisalvarhanso.com .. perhaps as the imprint on top of an Apollo candy bar as seen on the website. I checked it out, and at the end of each paragraph is a series of numbers. Nothing too complex, simplest alpha-numeric cypher there is (A=1, B=2, etc). It spells out "One man in his time plays many parts". Might be nothing, but worth keeping in mind, I suppose.

P.S. DOLPHINS would work too, heh heh :)

whereisalvarhanso.com is a fake site.
Please don't waste your time on it.
Hidden in the meta data of that site is a code with the url: lambdaiotaepsilon.com
A hoax from a while ago.
